Common questions

What's the difference between the 15% platform fee and Stripe's processing fee?

The 15% is Riverbend Live's platform fee, deducted automatically via Stripe Connect. Stripe also charges its standard 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction — paid by your business, same as any Stripe payment. The 15% does NOT cover Stripe's processing — but our flat fee is still well below OnlyFans (20%) or comparable platforms that layer multiple fees on top.

Can I switch tiers mid-month?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at your next billing cycle.

What counts as a "free event viewer"?

A concurrent viewer watching an event you've published without a PPV ticket. If you sell tickets, viewer count is uncapped on every tier — the cap only protects you from CDN cost blowouts on giveaway or free events.

What's the bonding router and do I need one?

It's a hardware unit that combines multiple internet connections into one redundant stream. You only need it if you're streaming from places with unreliable connectivity — venues, outdoors, mobile setups. Most home or studio creators don't need it.

How does live translation pricing work?

Live AI translation is a per-event add-on with three tiers by concurrent-viewer cap — Lite ($25 enable + $25/translation-hour, up to 250 viewers), Pro ($50 + $75/hr, up to 1,000), and Scale ($150 + $150/hr, up to 2,500). A "translation-hour" is one hour of translation in one direction to one destination language; bidirectional EN↔ES for one hour is 2 translation-hours. Above 2,500 viewers is custom — talk to sales.

Do I need a paid plan to use add-ons?

Add-ons attach to any plan from Creator up. Live AI Translation tiers (Lite / Pro / Scale) are billed per event independently of your subscription tier — you can be on Creator monthly and purchase Translation Scale for a single big multilingual gala. The bonding router is a one-time $400 hardware purchase available on Creator, Professional, and Enterprise.

What are managed services?

For organizations that want us to run the event end to end — managed production and white-glove launch, satellite acquisition, or a private whitelabel deployment. These are custom-scoped and custom-priced. Talk to sales to get started.

How does the affiliate program payout work?

Every producer gets a unique referral link on signup. When someone you refer makes their first transaction, your 12-month earning window starts. You earn 5% of their gross platform revenue (PPV + future subscriptions), paid directly to your Stripe Connect bank account on the same schedule as your own payouts.
